We confirm the domestic-line position, pipe size and material, valve condition, power, Wi-Fi, and installation space while excluding all fire-suppression piping.
Whole-home domestic-water shutoff installation • Licensed plumbing execution under RMP M-43057.
Houston-area installation
Pressure-wave analysis with whole-home domestic-water monitoring and automatic shutoff.
HydroSense Texas is listed in Phyn's Find a Phyn Pro Directory.
View the official Phyn directoryHydroSense scopes the exact installation after reviewing the home's domestic water line, power, Wi-Fi, valve layout, and separation from any fire-sprinkler or fire-suppression piping. Product features and manufacturer requirements are confirmed again in the written proposal.
Installation boundary
The home’s domestic water line is the standard HydroSense installation scope. HydroSense does not install leak detection, monitoring, or automatic shutoff control on fire-sprinkler or fire-suppression piping. Irrigation is optional and must be specifically requested, technically reviewed, and quoted in the written proposal. The proposal confirms the actual plumbing configuration and any equipment required; one shutoff device is not assumed to control both domestic water and irrigation.
How the system works
Phyn Plus installs on the domestic water supply after the primary shutoff and before downstream household branches. It uses pressure-based analysis through the manufacturer platform to identify water events, provide alerts, and control the integrated shutoff valve.

Installation-relevant details
Installed on the domestic water supply immediately after the main shutoff and before downstream household branches or fixtures
Manufacturer guidance requires installation within 11 feet of a 120V outlet and strongly recommends GFCI protection
Requires reliable broadband internet and a strong 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal at the installation location
The Phyn app can generate a Proof of Activation document, but the insurer determines whether that document satisfies a policy requirement
Outdoor installation is possible only when the location meets the manufacturer's mounting, spray, and environmental requirements
Product capabilities, app services, and model specifications can change. The final proposal confirms the current manufacturer requirements and exact device model.
Insurance qualification
Some insurers may offer a credit or underwriting consideration for an approved automatic water shutoff, but the insurer decides which models, installation methods, and documents qualify under a specific policy.
Confirm the requirement with your agent before purchasing for a discount. HydroSense provides an itemized installation record and helps locate available manufacturer verification documents.

The proposal identifies the exact model, device source, fittings, labor, included setup, exclusions, and fixed project price before scheduling.
03
The device is installed, connected to the manufacturer app, tested for shutoff operation, and documented for the homeowner's records.
Some insurers may offer an incentive for an approved automatic water shutoff such as Phyn Plus, but eligibility varies by insurer, policy, model, installation, and documentation requirement. Confirm the requirement with your insurance agent before purchasing for a discount. HydroSense provides an installation record and helps locate manufacturer verification documents when available; neither the device nor the documentation guarantees a credit.
Current manufacturer guidance requires a strong 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi signal and an always-on broadband connection at the installation location. Some mesh or band-steering networks may require a dedicated 2.4 GHz or guest-network setup.
