StreamLabs Control installation in Houston

Ultrasonic flow measurement with configurable alerts and automatic shutoff.

HydroSense scopes the exact installation after reviewing the home's domestic water line, power, Wi-Fi, valve layout, and separation from any fire-sprinkler or fire-suppression piping. Product features and manufacturer requirements are confirmed again in the written proposal.

Installation boundary

The home’s domestic water line is the standard HydroSense installation scope. HydroSense does not install leak detection, monitoring, or automatic shutoff control on fire-sprinkler or fire-suppression piping. Irrigation is optional and must be specifically requested, technically reviewed, and quoted in the written proposal. The proposal confirms the actual plumbing configuration and any equipment required; one shutoff device is not assumed to control both domestic water and irrigation.

How the system works

What StreamLabs Control is designed to do

StreamLabs Control installs inline on the domestic water entry line, uses ultrasonic measurement to monitor household flow, and controls an integrated shutoff valve through device settings and the StreamLabs app.

Installation-relevant details

What we verify before proposing StreamLabs Control

Review the manufacturer website

Manufacturer guidance lists compatibility with 3/4-inch, 1-inch, and 1-1/4-inch pipe diameters

Installed after the main shutoff and pressure-reducing valve, when present, and before downstream branches

Requires 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and power within reach of the manufacturer power supply

The manufacturer says automatic shutoff can still operate without Wi-Fi when Auto-Shut is enabled, while app reporting and remote control require connectivity

Fire-sprinkler and fire-suppression piping are excluded from HydroSense installations; the unit should be installed indoors or in a covered, protected location

Optional Smart Alerts learn normal water use over a seven-day period

Product capabilities, app services, and model specifications can change. The final proposal confirms the current manufacturer requirements and exact device model.

Insurance qualification

An installation record is not a guarantee of an insurance credit.

Some insurers may offer a credit or underwriting consideration for an approved automatic water shutoff, but the insurer decides which models, installation methods, and documents qualify under a specific policy.

Confirm the requirement with your agent before purchasing for a discount. HydroSense provides an itemized installation record and helps locate available manufacturer verification documents.

Installation process

From assessment to tested handoff

01

Compatibility review

We confirm the domestic-line position, pipe size and material, valve condition, power, Wi-Fi, and installation space while excluding all fire-suppression piping.

02

Written proposal

The proposal identifies the exact model, device source, fittings, labor, included setup, exclusions, and fixed project price before scheduling.

03

Install, test, and handoff

The device is installed, connected to the manufacturer app, tested for shutoff operation, and documented for the homeowner's records.

StreamLabs Control frequently asked questions

Can StreamLabs Control qualify for an insurance discount?

Some insurers may offer an incentive for an approved automatic water shutoff such as StreamLabs Control, but eligibility varies by insurer, policy, model, installation, and documentation requirement. Confirm the requirement with your insurance agent before purchasing for a discount. HydroSense provides an installation record and helps locate manufacturer verification documents when available; neither the device nor the documentation guarantees a credit.

Will StreamLabs Control shut off water if Wi-Fi is down?

The manufacturer says the Control can still close the valve after detecting a leak without an active Wi-Fi connection when Auto-Shut is enabled. App reporting, notifications, and remote control are unavailable until connectivity returns.

What does HydroSense verify before a StreamLabs installation?

We verify domestic-line pipe diameter, installation order relative to the shutoff and pressure-reducing valve, protected placement, outlet reach, and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
